Cross-border cooperation
France Bevk Library Gorica co-operates with libraries in Italian Gorica and in Udine, constituting an important part of the Alps-Adriatic libraries network. In 2000 it hosted an international workshop on The Role of Public Libraries in Local Communities in co-operation with the Ministry of Culture and Nova Gorica Urban Municipality. The library is gradually developing a new academic function (developing new methods) as part of its remit in co-operation with the University of Primorska. It is also collaborating with Udine Public Library in the joint project Film v knjižnici (‘Movie in a Library’).
