The Golden Coin of Poetry award was introduced in 2005 at the ceremony for the Veronika Award in order to honour a lifetime contribution to Slovene poetry. The poets who have received the award so far are Ciril Zlobec, Tone Pavček, Kajetan Kovič, Miroslav Košuta, Ivan Minatti, and Neža Maurer.
