Jimmy Barka Experience is an interesting music collaboration between two DJs and a drummer, and that makes them an unique example of such band on Slovene grounds. The trio consists of DJ Bakto, DJ Borka (both CodeEp) and Marjan Stanič, renowned Slovene percussionist, who is also a member of Čompe, Bast, Vasko Atanasovski Trio, Lolita and many more. Though they are coming from different music backgrounds (Stanič is more into ethno and jazz), they found an exceptional bound in combining live drumming with electronic samples and mash-ups produced with turntables, using a special technique called turntablism.

Their music is a fine mixture of funk, breakbeat, Balkan rhythms, rock and afro sounds, with powerful live performances, highly suitable for wild dancing. Jimmy Barka Experience (they named after Džimi Barka, a character form old Serbian flm called iWhen I'm Dead And Gone) first appeared on monthly funk event called Zeleno Sonce held at Gala hala in 2010, since then they opened for Ursula Rucker and Parov Stelar, and also performed a wide number of solo shows on different festivals and in clubs through Slovenia.
