Nowadays K4 is primarily a nightclub, but practically the only one in the Slovene capital, which is, without any serious hiatus, operating since its beginning. Its also the only nightclub providing alternative electronic music, supporting local crews and inviting prominent foreign DJs, VJs and producers to serve their cause. The crews who organise their happenings on regular bases are [[Illegal Kru]] with ''Digital Dungeon'', [[Don't Make New People]], [[DrumWise]], [[Synaptic]], [[Zavod Pralnica]] and collective ''Colours'' with techno and house events, K4 is also collaborating with [[Mimoza]], [[Smetnjak]], [[zAvod Kru]], [[Radyoyo T3S Muzik & Media]], [[Buba Booking and Promotion]] and [[Sindikat]]. K4 is a gay-friendly venue, throwing ''K4 Roza'' events for gays and lesbians almost every month, usually on Saturdays or Sundays. Part of the K6/4 Institute, Klub K4 has been known for over a two decades as a focus for progressive music culture in Slovenia and an active generator of music trends. It hosts guest artists from abroad and also provides a platform for new, unconventional Slovene musical talents. K4's programme concept is focused on contemporary and avant-garde music trends and urban culture, encompassing various genres, primarily electronic music, multimedia and hip hop by hosting various club events.

K4 formally established in 1989, in the basement under K6/4 Institute quarters, but was unofficially running since late 1980's under ŠKUC. Always following alternative underground musical trends, club went through various programme changes, hosting punk, grunge and rock to hip-hop and nowadays more or less just electronic club events.
