Knjižnica ("Library"), under a full name Library, Journal of Library and Information Science, has been published since 1957 by the Slovenian Library Association and the co-publisher National and University Library. Knjižnica is the only professional journal in the field of librarianship in Slovenia. Articles present recent professional achievements in library and information science and book studies, thus supporting the development of theory and practice in the field of library science.

The magazine is published four times per year (two single issues and one double issue) and can be ordered at the editorial desk of the Slovenian Library Association. It is indexed in LISA and LISTA (EBSCO).

Articles are available also online, at Library e-publications portal), as well as at LISA, Google Scholar, dLIb and COBISS/OPAC, with abstracts in English.

The journal is published with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Slovenian Book Agency, National and University Library, members of regional library associations and the Slovenian Library Association.
