[[Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory]] was established in [[established::1953]] to take over the teaching of the secondary programme previously administered by the [[Academy of Music]]. Since that time the Secondary School has continuously developed its pedagogic and artistic activities, gaining international acclaim at numerous solo, chamber, choral and orchestra public performances and winning many awards. To date more than 1,500 young musicians have received their secondary music education here. Since the school year 2000-2001 specialisations in Music (composition, singing or instrument, jazz and popular music) and Dance (ballet) have been offered. Today the Art Grammar School programme is offered and pupils can specialise either in music or dance.

Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory was established in 1953, when it separated from the Academy of Music and launched the Secondary Music and Ballet programme. Today the Conservatory offers specialised education in music (composition, voice, instrument playing, solfeggio) and ballet.
