Housed in a restored late 19th-century building in the centre of Maribor, Narodni dom offers various contexts for performing arts. As an organiser, producer and promoter, Narodni dom presents over 1,000 events each year. It runs Orchestra Series, Chamber Music Series, Youth Subscription Series, New Jazz at Narodni dom Series and Music Artists Salon, in the field of theatre the Comedy Series, Kekec - Children Series and various productions.

Each Summer Narodni dom runs the major international Lent Festival, which attracts more than 500,000 visitors each time. It also organises a range of other musical events and festivals, including the Folkart International Folklore Festival, Maribor and the Maribor Festival - International Chamber Music Festival.


Narodni dom's activities in the field of dance is focused primarily on folkloric and ethnic dance, with numerous international performances being presented each year within the programmes of the Lent Festival and the Folkart International Folklore Festival, Maribor.

Narodni dom is a member of the Association of Slovene Festivals (SloFA) and the European Festivals Association (EFA).
