Museum Ormož was established in 2005 by the Municipality of Ormož with the separation of the Ormož unit from Ptuj Regional Museum. Since the municipality did not manage to cover all the costs, the Museum Ormož was again merged with the Ptuj Regional Museum in 2009. The new museum was named Ptuj – Ormož Regional Museum.
Exhibitions
In 2008 a temporary exhibition Between Drava and Mura has been organized in Ormož Castle, which was conceived as a presentation of archaeological heritage in the areas and border municipalities Prlekija, Medžimurje (Razkrižje, Štrigova, Ljutomer, Ormož, Brela and Gornji Mihaljevec). The exhibition was a result of the Community Initiative INTERREG III A project, Neighborhood Program of Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia, entitled Tourist Zones of Prlekija and Medžimurje.
