Committees have been set up for cataloguing, bibliography, terminology, subject classification, training and education, preservation and restoration and standards. The Union of Slovene Library Associations has member Library Associations in Celje, Dolenjska, Gorenjska, Koroška, Ljubljana, Maribor, Pomurje and Primorska. It publishes the quarterly Knjižnica (Library) Magazine and bestows the annual Čop Award for achievements in librarianship.
