The Thunderbabies were established in 2002. Before this they had played in the punk'n'roll band IQ-22, later named IQ-Dealers, and then as underground rock'n'roll band Sonic Spastic. Their song Thunder Baby was so popular that the band renamed itself.

Thunderbabies have made forays into blues creativity under the influences of garage rock, punk and detroit accord variations (Devil Dogs, Real Kids, Ramones, Dictators, Saints, Radio Birdman, Stooges, Dirtbombs, Gories, Dead Moon, Tom Waits). They appeared at the FV Music Festival in Ljubljana in 2003 and were selected for the Klubski maraton (Radio Študent) in 2004.

The Thunderbabies are Alenka Hrvatin (bass, vocals), Peter Nose (drums) and Brane Škerjanc (guitar, vocal).
