Established in 1991 and located in the Ljubljana old town, Zala Gallery is a commercial gallery which sells works by Slovene painters, ranging from Impressionists (Jakopič, Jama, Grohar, etc.) through modernists (Emerik Bernard, Nikolaj Beer or Zdenko Huzjan) to the representatives of the young generation Boštjan Jurečič to name just some from the list of almost 50 artists.

Programme

Zala Gallery runs also a regular exhibition programme of up to 3 exhibitions per year. In summer 2010 it presented the painting of the month: Girl with the Bouquet III [Deklica s šopkom III] of Gabrijel Stupica (1913–1990) that after years of being in some collections in the USA returned to Slovenia. Besides the solo exhibitions of Janez Matelič and Jože Ciuha the gallery in 2009 featured the solo exhibition of Andrej Jemec marking his 75th jubilee. In 2008 Jože Šubic and Zoran Mušič presented solo exhibitions.

Every year the gallery organises a charity auction at the Rotary Club dance and issues a calendar with reproductions of art works.
