In 2007, the Mladinsko Theatre launched a festival overview of its annual production under the title Prelet (Overflight), later renamed the Mladinsko Showcase. Conceived as an outward-looking, internationally oriented project, with performances surtitled in English, it revisits and brings together standout productions from the theatre’s previous season.

Programme
The showcase brings together works by radical, internationally renowned Slovenian directors alongside contributions by international theatre makers connected to Mladinsko Theatre. The programme highlights the theatre’s own productions as well as co-productions within the contemporary performing arts field, and sometimes also features new or previously unseen works.
In addition to the theatre’s own stages, performances are frequently held at The New Post Office and other venues across the city.
International collaborations
In 2012, the festival partnered with the Croatian performing arts festival Perforacije, engaging in exchanges and co-productions of selected performances and programme segments. The following year, it collaborated with ICORN, the International Cities of Refuge Network. In 2014, the festival was held alongside the Ljubljana meeting of the East European Performing Arts Platform (EEPAP).
