Though it exists since the eighties, Big Band Krško was practically and formally established in 1994, when its conduction was taken over by Aleš Suša, the leader of the band since than. Playing various kinds of music, from swing and latin to fusion and jazzrock, the band has long been one of the better non-professional big bands in the region and from under its wings embarked a number of successful instrumentalists. Still, their musical high point has been the 2013 release of their first album titled Depeched, on which they present their covers of seven Depeche Mode songs. The album has garnered an unexpectedly positive response from the media and the audiences and led the band to be invited to play on the Jazz Montreux, a rare feat for Slovenian musicians.
