Organised by the Association of the Friends of Moderate Progress and the MKC Koper Youth and Culture Centre since 2005, the Koperground Festival in Koper-Capodistria is a festival of independent and engaged international film, literature, performance, and music. It takes place in the M&KC club and the garden of the Koper Regional Museum as well as various other locations around the city.

The dense programme is accompanied by unorthodox workshops. In 2010 Marko A. Kovačič coached a workshop on "Soft Terrorism" and the Serbian artist Wostok held a workshop on comics.
