International Music Festival Imago Slovenia
Background
Summer festivals in individual towns are enriched by events that relate to local heritage sites or objects, which help to develop cultural life as well as the image of towns and regions. Local organisers also help with the organisation.
The most important goals of the project are expansion of high quality art in smaller towns, promotion of classical music, artists and performers, intercultural dialogue and accessibility to cultural goods. That is also why the concerts are admission free.
Programme
Programme consists classical music from different periods for various chamber groups, choirs or symphony orchestras. Imago Sloveniae is well known quality brand which provides high quality. Four concerts from each season are recorded by Radio-Television Slovenia (RTV Slovenia) and five by Radio Slovenia.
International projects
Imago Sloveniae organised the Project European Musical Summer 2009 supported by the EU Culture Programme (2007–2013). 73 concerts of music performed by different musicians from 17 European countries took place at architecture heritage sites of Slovenia, Italy, Croatia and Czech Republic. The project should be the first step towards the Imago Europae network of historical locations, connecting the cultural heritage with living culture.
