The Pivka House of Culture site was set up as early as 1998 as an open space for a wide range of activities including music, theatre, film, visual arts and multimedia. It also incorporates a youth culture club. Since 2006 Pivka House of Culture has been a member of the M3C Multimedia Centres Network of Slovenia. It co-organises the Trnje Festival in partnership with Postojna Youth Centre.

Among concert goers, Pivka House of Culture is most known for its basement area "Čuza", which is divided into three rooms: a hallway with a bar, a merch and hanging spot, and a concert room. The latter is special for its colourful walls, smallness and lack of a stage, which contribute to a cosy and egalitarian atmosphere among the performers and the audience.
