Radio Capodistria is the radio programme unit of the RTV Slovenia Regional Broadcasting Centre Koper-Capodistria, which has around 120 employees. The centre broadcasts two radio programmes, one in Slovenian (Radio Koper) and the other in Italian, and are received in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the Slovene Littoral, Istria and coastal Slovenia.

The predecessor of Radio Koper was established in 1949 as Radio of Yugoslav zone of Trieste. Originally it was broadcasted in Slovene, Croatian and Italian. After 1954 it became a part of Radio Ljubljana (today's Radio Slovenia) and transmission was broadcasted in Italian and Slovene only. The Radio has studios in Koper and Nova Gorica, it also regularly collaborates with Slovene radio stations and stations from Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia and Australia. Radio Koper-Capodistria is also transmitted via the website.

Arts and culture programming

Besides international news and news from Slovene political, economic, social and cultural life, the station focuses on minority community events and news. It also features numerous cultural programmes, including Spazio attualita' cultura - Oddaja o kulturi which focuses on current cultural events. There are also shorter news items on minority schools, youth literature, theatre and cinema. Weekly programmes are prepared by pupils and students.
