Activities and organisation
The Association engages in the conception and implementation of various exhibitions and artistic events at home and abroad, and in the creation and publication of artists' books and catalogues. Its secretariat monitors the regulation of legal acts concerning the status of visual artists in Slovenia and cooperates accordingly with the Ministry of Culture, which is also the main funder of the Association's programmes. It organises the annual May Salon exhibition of its members' work and the Biennial of Slovene Book Illustration. It also bestows the Hinko Smrekar Award, the May Salon Award and the Rihard Jakopič Award.
