Housed in a 16th-century Jewish Tower in the city of Maribor, Stolp Photogallery was established by Photoclub Maribor as a club exhibition space in 1989. Annual it hosts up to 12 exhibitions of acclaimed or upcoming young Slovene artists and by foreign photographers. Its programme contains mostly solo exhibitions of authors as Maja Šivec, Marko Lipuš, Tomo Križnar, Borut Peterlin or Tomaž Lunder to name just some of them having their show in 2009. Once per year the group exhibition of the Photoclub members is featured. Further group exhibition are usually dedicated to colleagues of other Slovene regions or other countries: in 2009 the exhibition of their colleagues from Vojvodina or in 2008 the show of Photoclub Zagreb and its female section were featured.

The gallery houses a changing permanent collection of photographic works by many great names of Slovene photography, including the unique exhibition Photographs by the Maribor Circle from the early 1970s, which was a milestone in Slovene photography.
