Since [[established::2011]] they released one EP and played more than forty concerts around Slovenia and across Europe. Their distinction from other post-rock Slovene bands is in their long, repetitive and slowly evolving songs, distorted guitars and unrecognisable vocals, escorted with strong live performances.}} |

Band released their first EP poetically named Chapter I: The Current of Her Ocean Brings Me to My Knee under KAPA Records in the autumn of 2011. The release garnered critical acclaim from foreign and local media, it also reached 10th place on Radio Študent best Slovene albums of the year 2011. Shortly after, the band who previously carried out just a few live shows, went on a southern Europe tour with a fellow band Y, visiting Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia and Bulgaria. Regardless of lack of live shows before the EP, The Canyon Observer played as support band for prominent foreign groups, such as Russian Circles at MIKK and Rosetta at Orto Bar. Their biggest success was opening for God is an Astronaut at Kino Šiška in March 2012 and another European tour in April around Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and Czech Republic.
The second chapter of the EP is planned to be released at the end of 2012.
