Exhibitions
The first exhibition ever to take place in the GalerijaGallery was a project by the Berlin-based artists Benedikt Terwiel, titled Last of the lands and the first and accompanied by a presentation of his artist's book Measuring a location in units of time. The latter event took place in collaboration with the International Centre of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana.
This was followed by an exhibition of works by the Serbian arts collective U10, with the gallery presenting the works by Sava Knežević, Iva Kuzmanović and Marija Šević.
Institutional and international cooperation
The U10 collective exhibition was produced together with the Vodnik Homestead, which hosted another set of works by U10 artists. Besides preparing a shared exhibition and thus kick-starting the Šiška Gallery Quarter network, the galleries also organised a reciprocal presentation of Slovenian artists in Belgrade (RS), at the U10 Gallery, in which Jože Barši, Alen Ožbolt and the Veli & Amos tandem presented the Made in China project.
Made in China
Made in China is an initiative featuring around 30 well-established artists (among them Vuk Ćosić, Vadim Fiškin, Janez Janša (all three of them), Sašo Sedlaček and Son:DA) who try to establish a specific connection with the audiences by producing "artist's multiples". These were conceptualised back in the 1960s as series of identical art objects, produced or commissioned by the artist and made specifically for selling. They usually come as a signed limited edition but nevertheless sell for a very small price.
