The Chamber provides architects with useful information on changes in legislation, it hosts lectures and educational seminars, and organises competitions and exhibitions, including the traditional annual exhibition of the work of its members. It grants the Golden Pencil Award for the greatest achievements of its members in the field of architecture, landscape architecture, and planning. Since 2006 the exhibition is showcased at the Congress of Slovene Architects along with the award ceremony.
The Chamber is a member of the Architects' Council of Europe (ACE).
House of Architecture
Since 2008 the House of Architecture – Hiša Arhitekture operates under the auspices of the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning with a mission to promote architecture through exhibitions, lectures and related cultural and educational activities. The space is located in the atrium on Vegova 8 and at first consisted of a small exhibition space in the size of 70m2. The later added supporting premises wrap up the space into a functional whole.
In 2010 a series of architectural workshops for children Architecture and Children have been organised in cooperation with various architectural studios, naming only the Arhitektura Krušec, AKSL Arhitekti, MultiPlan Architects, and Ravnikar-Potokar Architecture Bureau.
