The Drugajanje Festival is an annual festival that focuses primarily on young audiences, presenting them national and international contemporary performing arts productions. It is organized by the Bunker Institute in partnership with high schools and local organizations in five Slovenian cities – Maribor, Ptuj, Nova Gorica, Ljutomer, and Celje. It was initiated in 2002 by the Second Grammar School in Maribor, which has remained a close partner throughout the years.
The festival was conceived as a response to the gap in the supply of cultural content for youth and aims to affirm contemporary dance and performing arts, especially among teenage audiences, with a program of performances, workshops, and lectures.
The festival regularly features new productions by the Bunker Institute and cooperates with the Maribor-based Association Nagib, GT22, and Moment Arts and Culture Association in its programming, as well as the Celje-based House of Culture Celje. In 2023, partner high schools were Second Grammar School Maribor, Grammar School Nova Gorica, Grammar School Ptuj, and Grammar School Franc Miklošič Ljutomer.
The 22nd edition of Drugajanje Festival is organized in two parts (November 2023 and January 2024) and focuses on the diversity of theatre formats, as well as practical workshops.
