Established in 1957, Situla Journal: Dissertationes Musei Nationalis Sloveniae is an annual publication of the National Museum of Slovenia which brings syntheses from the field of archaeology as well as monographs about numismatics, epigraphy, and ancient history. All of its articles have been translated into an international language and are thus accessible to foreign scholars interested in these topics.

The topics include The Sisak Hoard of Argentei of the Early Tetrarchy by Aleksander Jeločnik, Les tissus Coptes du Musée national de Ljubljana by Darinka Zelinka, Classification of Byzantine Stamena in the Light of a Hoard Found in Southern Serbi by David Michael Metcalf, etc.
