Nordic Centre Planica, Studio AKKA landscape architecture. Render: Zaš Brezar

Studio AKKA, established in 2006 by Ana Kučan and Luka Javornik, specialises in landscape and urban landscapes for public clients. Its projects involve various urban landscapes (Ledina kindergarten playground in Ljubljana, Harbour Street Park in Koper, the new Ljubljana Sports park in Stožice ...). In 2009 it won the 1st prize ex aequo for the landscape of the Nordic Ski Centre in Planica.

Together with Studiobotas, AKKA Studio presented Slovenia at the 12th Architecture Biennial in Venice with the All Shades of Green project produced by the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana featuring the urban space as a playscape, a place for communication for its inhabitants. The playground built with elements of landscape design interacted with the urban space in front of the A+A Gallery, Venice.

A newly-constructed pavilion opened in 2016 houses also a Planica Museum. In the background, on the left side the 'Gorišek Brothers Ski Flying Hill' built in 1969, while the 'Bloudek Giant' is seen on the right-hand side. The latter was finished in 1934, when it also claimed its first world record.
