[[Mikl House Museum]] was founded in August [[established::1958]] on the initiative of the Museum Society and opened within the grounds of [[Ribnica Castle]] in September 1961. It now forms part of Ribnica Municipality's [[Mikl House]] cultural complex. It has two parts. First mention in documents of Ribnica wooden arts and crafts ''Suha roba'' was in 14th century. With the merchant decree of emperor Friderik III. from year 1492 ''Suha roba'' was spread all over Holy Roman Empire and gave economical self-esteem to the people region to built Ribnica as religious and cultural center. Nova Štifta baroque church was important pilgrimage site in 17th and 18th century. In Ribnica [[Jacobus Gallus Carniolus]] renaissance composer was born in 1550.   
 
  
The permanent museum collections are: Wooden Ware and Pottery where the typical cottage industries of the Ribnica region including vessels, spoons, flooring, joinery products, tools, turned articles, wickerwork and toothpicks are presented. Most known pottery are so called horses that whistle through their rears. Other part of the permanent exhibition presents real history of Ribnica, but following the fairytale how Ribnica was established. An archaeological exhibition on the oldest settlement in the Ribnica Valley depicts a remarkable prehistoric hill fort surrounded by three ramparts. In defence tower of the castle exhibition of witch hunt bearing the name ''Bloody Fight With the Witch Menace'' is presented with torture devices and documents of real trial that happened in Ribnica in 1701.
