Plesna izba - Maribor Dance Room was established in 1994 by Minka Veselič Kološa, whose pioneering work in the area of dance education has been awarded several times. Besides a highly successful and extensive programme of dance education, Maribor Dance Room also produces dance and performing arts performances as well as organises two festivals, namely NagiB Experimental Movement Festival and Platforma - Young Authors' Festival.

Stage production

After basic and advanced educational programme the most creative and talented young dancers are given a possibility to participate in selections for entering one of our two dance ansambles Company I and Company II (the difference is purely in style and technique). Both ansambles create one performance a year, choreographed by various choreographers, sometimes also guest choreographers. The dancers are also given a chance to make solo performances. In 2004 Crows by Vlasta Veselko and Nina Milin. In 2003 Konstrukt by Vlasta Veselko, in 2002 V Senci Zena by Mojca Kasjak, Ljubo Javoršek; 4M3 by Vlasta Veselko, Market, From Scratch # 4 (No Tea.
