The programme of [[Vodnik Homestead]] has a very diverse programme, with some of the typecal events being Sunday children programme, education events on contemporryr vidsual art and comics, regular evening discussions with writers, poets, translators, film-makers, etc. There are also various exhibitions dedicated, one was for example dedicated to the 70th anniversary of ''Ciciban'', Slovene cult magazine for children. Of the protagonists from the literary field, the Vodnik Homestead cooperates or has cooperated with the [[I.D.I.O.T Group]] and [[Slovene Writers’ Association]].
  
In June, during the Chelsea Fringe Festival, a small  herb garden was planted in front of the new home, to complement the Library under the Treetops reading sessions in the green oasis in the middle of the city. The Vodnik Homestead is a multi-purpose venue located in the Ljubljana suburb of Šiška. Its basic coordinates are summed up as being the "house of reading, writing and story-telling" and an institution for popularising heritage of Valentin Vodnik, though music, comics art and illustration are also featured in its programme. Set up as a cultural venue back in 1984, it is currently – since 2015 – run by the Divja misel Institute. Alongside its programme, which is also aimed towards children and education, the Vodnik Homestead is also housing a music school.
