A-Atalanta launched its feature film productions in 1996 with Čamčatka ('Melitta'), a TV film directed by Mitja Novljan. Its short film A Short Hymn to the Home Country (1999), directed by Boris Palčič, won the award for best short film at the International Film Festival in Gava, Spain and at the International Film and Video Festival in Tebessa, Algier, both in 2001.
