A-Atalanta launched its feature film productions in 1996 with ''Čamčatka'' ('Melitta'), a TV film directed by [[Mitja Novljan]]. Its short film ''A Short Hymn to the Home Country'' (1999), directed by [[Boris Palčič]], won the award for best short film at the International Film Festival in Gava, Spain and at the International Film and Video Festival in Tebessa, Algier, both in 2001. Established in 1992, A-Atalanta Ltd is an independent film, video and TV production company based in Ljubljana. Owner and president Branislav Srdić manages the company in tandem with its sister companies in the former Yugoslavia (Croatia, Serbia, Monte Negro, Macedonia). The company is active in the film, video, and commercial production, co-production, services, distribution, and equipment rentals.
