The Literatura Literary Artistic Association was established in 1989 to publish the newly-autonomous magazine Literatura. In the following year the association also began publishing books.

Collections published since that time include: Novi pristopi [New Approaches], which presents original Slovene essay and theory texts; Prišleki [Newcomers] for upcoming artists; Stopinje [Footsteps] focues on foreign authors; and Labirinti [Labyrints], featuring translations of J. L. Borges, G. Deleuze, F. Guattari (Kafka), Paul de Man, and Gianni Vattimo. It has also published various short stories by Slovene authors, including Noč v Ljubljani [Evening in Ljubljana], based on a historic event: the night that James Joyce spent at the railway station in Ljubljana.
