Natural heritage
From Culture.si
Around 10 % of Slovenia’s territory falls within protected areas (of which, 35.5 % is protected under Natura 2000), and almost 15,000 elements of nature have been given the status of valuable natural feature. The conservation of nature falls under the Slovenian Environment Agency within the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning. Sometimes there is only a thin line between the cultural and natural heritage, therefore you can find articles on selected natural parks, phenomena and features also on the Culture.si portal, with the emphasis on their cultural dimensions.
