Activities
Bringing together dancers, choreographers, educators, critics and theorists of contemporary dance at the national level, the association's main purpose is to actively cooperate with the competent Slovene institutions in the processes of adopting decisions regarding the contemporary dance field. The CDAS also actively supports activities for the development of contemporary dance theory and criticism, it organises public lectures, panel discussions and workshops, cooperates in various events in Slovenia and abroad, and sets up databases. The Contemporary Dance Network, a project of the Contemporary Dance Association Slovenia, involves 41 dance producers and endeavours to increase the quality of professional work in the field of contemporary dance. It was formally established in 2010 with goals to connect organisations that develop and produce contemporary dance art, to arrange better conditions for the contemporary dance artists and, finally, to increase awareness of contemporary dance in Slovenia and abroad.
