The Revije.si portal was set up in 2015 by the Slovenian Book Agency in order to make Slovenian magazines about literature, humanities and other fields of culture more visible, accessible and searchable. It functions as an on-line archive with free access to full issues of most magazines, though some are available with a 6 month delay. The portal also offers web hosting and a specialised IT platform to the publishers.

At the moment it features around 30 magazines: literary magazines, among them Literatura, Sodobnost, I.D.I.O.T., childrens' and young adults magazines, and humanities magazines, e.g. ČKZ Journal for the Critique of Science, for Imagination and New Anthropology; most of them are published with the financial support of the Slovenian Book Agency.

In collaboration with the National and University Library, Revije.si furnishes these magazines with metadata, thus enabling advanced search options for possible pedagogical, academic and other purposes. The portal's search engines is also connected with the central Slovenian book portal Bližjiknjigi.si (Closer to Book), which unites the various facets of contemporary book industry.
