The association Kino mreža was established in November of 2009. This is the second attempt to bring together Slovene art cinemas (the first was done in 2003 when the Kinodvor Cinema reopened its door as an art cinema) and to facilitate their activity. Its main goal is to ease and to improve the working conditions of member cinemas, to help them in acquiring the proper technical equipment, to improve the circulation of important informations and to stimulate the collaboration on national and international level. At the present the following cinema joined the association: Art Club Litija, Kino Odeon Izola, Portorož Auditorium, Ivan Cankar Culturel House Vrhnika, Cankarjev dom, Ljubljana, Delavski dom Trbovlje Cultural Centre, Društvo Reflektor, Društvo za razvoj filmske kulture Maribor, Dvorana prve slovenske vlade, Ajdovščina, Kinodvor Cinema, JZK Litija, Kino Rogaška Slatina, Kino Slovenj Gradec, Sora Cinema, Škofja Loka, Kino Velenje, Kino Zagorje, Kosovel Culture House Sežana, Cerknica Culture House, Franc Bernik Culture House, Domžale, Nova Gorica Arts Centre, Linhart Hall, Radovljica, Art kino Metropol Celje, Ptuj City Cinema, Party Max Cinema Murska Sobota, and ZKD Grosuplje. Turned towards the future the association is promoting the digitalisation of cinemas and suggesting some practical solutions (in accordance with the Europa Cinemas guidelines). It is also organising meetings and lectures.
