History

The Slovene Music Information Centre (SIMIC) was established in 2004 by the Ministry of Culture and the former Ministry of Information Society.

Location

Programme

The Slovene Music Information Centre has become a central information hub in Slovenia that promotes Slovene music, musicians and music heritage in Slovenia and internationally. It facilitates access to a wide range of information relating to various genres of music, developing its online services and co-operating closely with various institutions and NGOs engaged in the music sector. The purpose of the project is the consolidation of information from the field of musical authorship, performance and interpretation and other musical activities in Slovenia - from the past as well as present, making a comprehensive information easily accessible to wide public.

The Centre has been a member of the International Association of Music Information Centres (IAMIC) since 2006.
