The purpose of the Slovene Music Information Centre is to consolidate information from the field of musical authorship, performance and interpretation and other musical activities in Slovenia – from the past as well as present, making a comprehensive information easily accessible to wide public. In 2011 SIGIC launched the Internet magazine ''[[Odzven.si]]'' devoted to information, essays and interviews about different musical genres.

International cooperation

SIGIC has been a member of the International Association of Music Information Centres (IAMIC) since 2006. Each year SIGIC participates at MIDEM (short for Marché International du Disque et de l'Edition Musicale), the world's largest music industry trade fair.
